Melee Phys Dmg Poe List
I just realized.. is there a single build in path of exile that is pure physical? Sure most attack-based builds are mostly phys, but not pure.. Hatred added fire and herald of ash seem to be stapples of many builds, and a few others use other damage.. Crit loves elements as well. there's pure chaos damage builds as well but dont think I remember the last time I saw a pure physical build. Hell, the only spell that is pure physical is best scaled with elemental gems. Have I missed something or is pure phys not a thing in PoE? and if so how long until someone makes an amulet that says something like: UNIQUE AMBER AMULET adds x-y flat physical damage to attacks adds x-y flat physical damage to spells (both COULD be per lvl as to make the amulet lower level, otherwise it should be endgame one I guess) Deal no Non-Phys damage seriously, I wouldnt mind more options for pure damage-bases. Where are the brothers of avatar of fire? Hopefully GGG will stop abandoning leagues after 4.0.0 is released https://i.imgur.com/s3aOqhb.mp4 | Posted by on Aug 2, 2015, 5:24:01 AM |

Check out my character Yamenasai, it's a pure phys bloodmagic cyclone build. Once I get a Disfavour (that is, once the price drops below 10 exalts..), I'll probably do something like: Cyclone Melee Phys Inc AOE Fortify Faster Attacks Bloodlust The key to bloodlust is that I can proc bleeds with Vengeance, offering up a really nice damage boost against mobs that don't instantly die. Overall the build is really nice when rolling map mods; in fact Elemental Equilibrium map mods actually improve my damage since it boosts the damage from Molten Shell. I'd say an important cornerstone to pure phys is getting Skittering Runes for increased curse effect (esp. against bosses) and corrupting some vulnerability on hit gloves. Damage kind of sucks without that. IGN: Ikimashouka, Tsukiyattekudasai, DontCallMeMrFroyo | Posted by on Aug 2, 2015, 6:10:13 AM |
Yes, you can play with the BM keystone, or play a more defensive version of many melee builds with Grace/Determination/Purities. If you play maps with a lot of mods your elemental damage won't do much without penetration anyway (elemental resist, equilibrium mods). | Posted by on Aug 2, 2015, 9:12:43 AM |
Based on how they are designed, you can consider Hatred, added fire and Herald of Ash physical damage gems. So even though they deal elemental damage, I'd call a build using them 'pure physical'. If you really want to skip them, you're sacrificing a ton of damage, so you'd probably need a crazy good weapon. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519 Last edited by Peterlerock on Aug 2, 2015, 10:28:20 AM | Posted by Peterlerock on Aug 2, 2015, 10:28:01 AM |
Oh yes, I forgot about BM buff (took them long enough). Gilrad, your build is pretty tanky but is the damage enough? seems it might be low. It just seems to me that damage is not quite as stackable without elemental aid. It definitely goes up to a certain point, but then stops. I remember I actually had a decent pure phys ranger in the past that relied on an absurd amount of IAS more than %phys damage, but GGG has been nerfing attack speed for a while =/ Hopefully GGG will stop abandoning leagues after 4.0.0 is released https://i.imgur.com/s3aOqhb.mp4 | Posted by on Aug 2, 2015, 7:10:42 PM |
Like I said before, the damage really rides off that curse-on-hit vulnerability with 20% increased effect. I actually can't handle curse-immune maps very well at all, from a combination of the Enfeeble no longer making enemies deal laughable damage and from the increased time to kill mobs making them more dangerous. It seems like a rather small effect, but it's actually a pretty big deal. Sure there's probably a cap somewhere, but the cap is well within the 'acceptable solo clearspeed' range. Even with my seemingly low damage setup, I can kill 90% of trash mobs in two hits with Cyclone on 74 maps. And cyclone hits pretty damn fast too, if I'm passing directly over the enemy I won't have to double back (though that only applies to those I directly run over). ^that seems decent enough though I wonder if GGG couldnt make pure phys something more viable overall.. Hopefully GGG will stop abandoning leagues after 4.0.0 is released https://i.imgur.com/s3aOqhb.mp4 | Posted by on Aug 2, 2015, 7:34:33 PM |
it comes down to whatever ur damage is without elemental, you just add extra as elemental and you do more damage, its that simple really. If you build pure phys its because you had to. Im not bothered by it, it is what it is. | Posted by on Aug 2, 2015, 8:38:40 PM |
My Frenzybreaker build happens to accomplish pure physical. I cannot afford to use Hatred since I will end up having to give up either Grace or Purity, and it can be costly. I already had to drop Vitality since reduced mana cost was changed in 2.0. Edit: I am able to hit that much DPS from Old Ward shield, but without it, I am like around 36-38k DPS. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game. - raics, 06.08.2016 Last edited by JohnNamikaze on Aug 3, 2015, 12:01:30 AM | Posted by JohnNamikaze on Aug 2, 2015, 11:57:58 PM |
